US SCS is a customer service driven company that is experiencing phenomenal growth in the markets we serve. We are a local company, based in Valley Park, Missouri and working hard every day to be the best in the industry. We’re known for going out of our way for our customers. |
| HISTORY Specialized Container Service was formed in December of 2000 with 1 Freightliner single axle hook-lift truck and 6 roll-off dumpsters. The company was started by two 22-year-old friends, Robert Stroot and Kevin Harness, as a way to both supplement and venture out from the landscaping business they were both involved in. It didn’t take long to see there was a need for quality service in the St. Louis area. After a year together in the business, Harness left SCS to focus his efforts towards his landscaping company, while Stroot continued to build on the company’s customer base. Six months later, Robert persuaded his best friend since 2nd grade, Cory Reinen, to come and join him in the business. |
Soon we realized that there was also a need for quality service on the residential and commercial side of the business. After doing extensive research, and after watching yet another local company being bought out by a national conglomerate, seeing the price go up and the service level go down, we knew our time had come. In early 2004 we bought a 2004 Freightliner with a 25-yard rear-load compactor, and began to offer the best service possible at the best possible price. We’ve experienced incredible growth in the last year, and in January we added a 2005 Sterling with a 20-yard rear-load compactor. We now service over 3000 residential customers, including several subdivisions plus over 100 commercial customers, and we’re adding to those numbers every day! |

TEAM
Robert StrootPresident Mr. Stroot provides the “street smarts” to Specialized Container Service and is in charge of SCS’s day to day operations. Robert became an entrepanuer early on his childhood when he started a one truck lawn and landscaping business in Eureka, MO. After years of mowing and landscaping, he enrolled in business classes and expanded his skills in management and marketing / sales. After researching new business ventures, Robert found that there was a need for quality trash removal services in the St. Louis area. Robert understands the importance of taking care of the customer in everyway possible and portrays this attitude to all SCS’s employees daily. |
Cory ReinenVice President Mr. Reinen brings the “book smarts” to Specialized Container Service’s operations and manages the company’s financial strategies. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Cory worked in sales for two Fortune 500 food service companies and continually searched for the opportunity to achieve personal and professional goals. This opportunity arose when Cory decided to join Robert in SCS and help continue the company’s number one objective, “customer satisfaction.” |

| HOURS Our offices are open Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Delivery hours are Monday - Friday 4:00 am - 8:00 pm. All apointments must be scheduled 48 hours in advance. Saturday appointments are available upon special request and must be scheduled. |
